Picturebox was established in 1986 by Stephen Hedges.
The first commission was to design and create a range of hand painted children’s furniture for Harrods.
This then led to Picturebox undertaking major restorations to the ground floor of this iconic department store.
Following this came extensive work for the Sultan of Brunei, in several of his private residences and palaces worldwide which included all types of decorative finishing; gilding, marbling, wood graining and trompe l’oeil.
In 1996 the company decorated the newly built castle in the Channel Islands for the Barclay Brothers.
They then helped renovate the Ritz hotel in London, which include hand painting the famous Palm Court.
The adjoining Arlington House (also known as William Kent House) was then restored by Picturebox in conjunction with English Heritage.
